A wonderful cookie for the holidays, Russian Tea Cakes are a buttery, nutty, melt-in your-mouth irresistible little cookie. Easy to make and absolutely delicious, these little confections keep very well, so they make wonderful make-ahead gifts for friends and family. Try these Russian Tea Cakes once and they’ll become a Christmas tradition for years to come.

Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts or pecans
powdered sugar

Directions
1 – Pre-heat oven to 325°F.

2 – Mix to Combine butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla.

3 – Once mixed, stir in the flour, salt, and chopped nuts.

4 – Roll pieces of dough into 1 inch balls. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inchs apart.

5 – Bake about 20 minutes. The cookies should be just set. They should not be brown.

6 – When finished baking remove the cookies from the baking sheets and move to a wire rack. While still warm, gently roll each cookie in powdered sugar.

7 – Place back on a wire rack. Roll the cookies in the powdered sugar another 1-2 times. This will yield the best result.
