You’ll have this Quick & Easy Classic Meatloaf recipe ready to bake in no time at all. For the breadcrumbs use whatever you have on hand like plain, seasoned, Italian style or even crushed cracker crumbs. If you’re out of ketchup substitute an equal amount of tomato soup or tomato sauce.
Prep time: 7 minutes
Cook time: 1 hour (approximately)
Serves: 3-4
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
1 large egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs or crushed crackers
1/4 cup half & half
1/2 an onion, minced
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoons garlic powder
1 TBS Steak Sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
Meatloaf Topping
1/3 cup ketchup (for an added kick try BBQ sauce instead!)
2 TBS Dijon Mustard
1 – Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a baking pan or line with parchment paper for easier handling and quicker clean up.
2 – Mix the meatloaf topping ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.
4 – In a large mixing bowl add all the ingredients. With your hands, delicately mix all the ingredients so they are all evenly dispersed. Be sure not to over work the meat otherwise it will be dense.
5 – Pour the meat mixture onto pan . Form the meat mixuture into a loaf.
6 – Place in oven and baste with sauce mixture after about 20 minutes. Drain pan if necessary and continue cooking for another 30 minutes or until meatloaf is nicely browned and cooked through. If you have a meat thermometer, the center of the meatloaf should read 160 degrees when finished cooking.
7 – Remover from oven and allow to stand 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
7 – Enjoy!
